To All Fathers

In the Pentateuch we find the history of the family. In the beginning it really was a man’s world. The fathers made all of the decisions and they had total control over their families including their wives, children, and extended families. The fathers, known as patriarchs were the ones who God had assigned as the priest and the head of the house and children gave them honor both when they were children and when they were grown. The family depended on the father and the father put his trust in God. They walked with God, talked with God, and they believed God for everything. These men were not perfect and they made mistakes but in adversities they went immediately to God asking His forgiveness and petitioning His advice.

If we fast forward to today many fathers have slid from their positions of honor and respect and their children are out of control. Although fathers were assigned by God the position of head of the family some vacate their position allowing someone else to step in take their authority and exert their control.

PRO 3:33 The LORD’S curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.

Blessings don’t flow uphill. They flow from the top to the bottom. If the top is out of place the blessings get hung up and can’t reach the bottom. If the head is sick unto death the body will also die. When a father loves his children he shows affection but he also provides correction.

Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Your family is depending on you. Choose this day to assume your position as the head and the priest of your house. Put the devil on notice God gave me authority and I am taking control. This is my house and as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.
